INFORMATION
Gyumri is situated 126 km from Yerevan (capital of the Republic of Armenia); it lies in the northwestern part of Armenia in the central Shirak Highland. It sits 1550feet above sea level.
The overall space it covers is 3626 ha.
The length of Shirak highland flat part is approximately 35 km, and the width 25 km. It borders Pambak western, volcanic Aragats northern and western mountains and rocks. -The town has a geographically favorable location, which is crossed by Cherkez, Djajur and other cliffs. The land is flat and is covered by lake, river and volcanic massifs of 350 m width.
CONFERENCES
Gyumri is one of the best places for organizing an unforgettable conference. Many conferences are held in the Museum of National Architecture and Urban Life. This is one of the oldest buildings in Gyumri. It has a restaurant, a conference hall and the museum on the second floor.
PHARMACY
There is a 24 hour pharmacy on Rizhkov Street (Kirov Street) and another on Abovyan Street just off the main square. Pharmacies can easily be found everywhere around the city.

Train
Gyumri-Yerevan, Yerevan-Gyumri train service is the cheapest way to get in and out of the city. Yerevan-Gyumri train runs every day at 8:00AM and6:00PM and takes approximately 3 ½ hours. Train station is located in Kayaranamerts Square at the eastern end of Tigran Mets and Gorki streets.

Bus/minivan services
There are mini vans that run to Yerevan every day from 7:00AM-8:00PM. There are no scheduled departures, but the 15 passenger mini vans depart when full. The vans leave from the Avtokayaran, located at the end of Shahumyan Street. To get there walk to the south from the Gyumri Central Square through the market area. The price is 1,500 AMD. Shared taxis operating on the same route leave from the same place and cost 2,500AMD per person. Mini vans and taxis go to the Kilikia Central Bus Station on 6 Admiral Isakov Ave in Yerevan and they return to Gyumri from the same place.
There are buses, minivans and shared taxis that run from Gyumri to Vanadzor for 800-1200AMD. The buses and minivans have scheduled departures throughout the day every day. Shared taxis depart when full.
