On November 26, Gyumri mayor Samvel Balasanyan congratulated and presented awards to the medal winners and their coaches, who participated in the World and Europe championships which took place during the months of September-October.

 On November 26 Gyumri mayor Samvel Balasanyan received the representatives of consulting group of Asian bank Nils Christenson, Viktor Bakhtamyan and Andrig Mouls. Danish consulting group COWI was in Gyumri with the project proposal of solid waste management. Samvel Balasanyan welcomed the guests and briefly presented the city's waste management activities and tasks. Gyumri has almost no waste transportation problems, but the main problem is the municipal landfill and the lack of waste recycling. The representatives of consulting group intend to conduct a research in Gyumri and later submit the reports to the Asian Development Bank.

 On November 25, Gyumri city mayor Samvel Balasanyan received the delegation headed by Bruno Kaufmann-the deputy mayor of Falun city in Sweden. Bruno Kaufmann paid a preliminary visit. Welcoming the guests, Samvel Balasanyan raised the issue of publicity of community activity, taking into consideration the fact that Gyumri is the first community in Armenia where a live broadcasting is supported during the meetings of Council of Elders.

  The department of housing and environmental protection of Gyumri municipality started the preparatory works of winter in September; the required amount of relevant materials-salt and sand, have already been obtained. At the press conference held on November 24, the department head of housing and environmental protection Knyaz Manasyan informed that the amount of salt and sand as well as the appropriate techniques are more compared with previous years.
