On May 17, Gyumri mayor Samvel Balasanyan received the EU Member-State Ambassadors led by Traian Hristea the head of the EU delegation to Armenia. Samvel Balasanyan highly evaluated the programs implemented by the EU in Armenia and expressed his willingness to support the development of joint projects in Gyumri. Among the possible directions of cooperation the two sides emphasized energy savings, support for small and medium-sized businesses, educational and other programs. Guests thanked the mayor for his support for the implementation of Europe Day program, simultaneously emphasizing the importance of Gyumri joining to ‘Covenant of Mayors' launched by EU. Issues of bilateral interest were also discussed during the meeting.
