On October 3^rd 2014, Gyumri mayor Samvel Balasanyan received German students and the representatives from the “Armenian Project”. At the beginning of the meeting Samvel Balasanyan congratulated the German friends on the occasion of Germany’s Day of Unity afterwards touched upon the significance of projects of this kind which strengthens the relationships between two nations. The project has been operating since 2002, which aims at mutual exchange of youth in the spheres of culture and education. The head of the project Verner Blume thanked the mayor for his warm welcome and mentioned that as many project members state, Gyumri is a unique city. At the end of the meeting the project representatives expressed their readiness to do their best for strengthening ties between the two nations. Gyumri mayor Samvel Balasanyan handed acknowledgements to the head of “Armenian Project” director V. Blumen for his investment in strengthening intercultural ties.
