Gyumri mayor Samvel Balasanyan accepted the first pan-Armenian winter games medal winner Gyumri participants. The mayor first congratulated the athletes, at the same time expressed his optimism that this achievements will become the best motto for further successes.
The team coach Slavik Sargsyan mentioned that he highly appreciates the successful performances of the athletes. According to him Gyumri has always stood out for its skillful athletes and even for the sports uniforms and thanked Samvel Balasanyan for his support.
In his turn the mayor stressed that he is always ready to support sports development and progress in Gyumri. At the end of the meeting Samvel Balasanyan presented souvenirs and rewards. As a reminder, Gyumri had presented in one type of sports (skiing) during the first pan-Armenian winter games with 15 athletes who represented the Gyumri winter athletics school. 6 out of 12 medals were awarded to Gyumri athletes, 2 out of which were gold.
