Today on February 21, Gyumri city mayor Samvel Balasanyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and the Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania Erikas Petrikas to the Republic of Armenia. The mayor welcomed the Ambassador's first visit to Gyumri hoping that it will become a promising start for Armenian-Lithuanian relations in Gyumri.
Both sides stressed the importance of developing and strengthening relationships particularly emphasizing the importance of making sister cities with Gyumri in Lithuania.
Erikas Petrikas presented the historical roots of the Armenian-Lithuanian relations mentioning the spheres with great potential for future cooperation.
Erikas Petrikas highlighted the importance of business cooperation. The Ambassador’s aim is to involve Lithuanian businessmen in the Armenian market.
In his turn Gyumri mayor Samvel Balasanyan mentioned about the importance of making relationships not only in the field of sports and culture but also in the field of business. During the meeting both sides expressed their willingness of developing the most appropriate and effective ways of cooperation.
