On December 11, Gyumri mayor Samvel Balasanyan received the delegation from Nardo, Italy, led by mayor Marcello Ricci.

At the beginning of the meeting Samvel Balasanyan greeted his Italian partner and briefly introduced some details on Armenian-Italian partnership, as well as hoped that the mutual visits and the signed contracts will benefit the strengthening the economic and cultural connections between the two cities.

Marcello Ricci considers the spiritual connection between two cities important and mentioned that the protector of Nardo city is Gregory the Illuminator and that fact makes Armenian-Italian relationships even stronger. Mr. Ricci also mentioned that he is impressed with Armenia and especially with Gyumri’s beauty as well as with determination to develop bilateral relationships by his Armenian partners.

Then a cooperation memorandum was signed between Gyumri and Nardo which includes cooperation directions such as tourism, urban construction, restoration construction, information technologies etc. The above mentioned spheres are important both for experience exchange and investments.
